New things

As we are quickly approaching fall, I wonder how the past few months have seemed to pass so quickly. It's been awhile since I've written, so I'll give a quick update...

It has been a full summer for me, as I have been working part time at The Restaurant at the Painted Boat resort in Pender Harbour (http://www.crmr.com/dining-painted.php). It is a great place to work and I've really enjoyed serving there. If you're in the area, please stop by for a lovely lunch or dinner!

At the end of July I also had some new excitement in my life - I got engaged! Kent Morgan asked me to marry him while we were walking through the rose gardens at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. I said "yes"! We ended a wonderful day with a fireworks show at the beach - where we had our first date together a year ago :) We are planning to get married this coming April and are thankful for all of God's wonderful blessings in our lives.

Since Kent lives in Vancouver and I'm in Pender Harbour, we don't seem to take many photos, so will have to update that soon, but this one was taken last spring during a fun snowshoeing adventure.

I find that in the new seasons of life, God always has new things to teach me. I've been challenged lately with focus - keeping my eyes on Jesus in all things, especially when the busyness of life can be overwhelming. This isn't a "new" thing, but a needed new reminder of an old thing. I have seen God at work when I least expect it, and am humbled to be used by Him when I feel inadequate. I thank God for his goodness and grace in my life, and I pray that I might be faithful to share Him with all whom I meet on this journey.
